HOGS visit

The HOGS committee invites you to a day at Rosewood and Fig Flower farm

Location: 9 Wallaby Close Duns Creek

Date: Saturday 18th April 2026

Time: 10:00 a.m -2:00 p.m

About Rosewood and Fig Flower Farm

Rosewood and Fig is a Micro Cut Flower Farm selling flowers from the farm gate, through retail stores and to individual subscriptions. We also make pure bees wax candles, sourcing bees wax from local bee keepers.

What's unique and interesting about our approach?

  • There’s not many organic local flower farmers in the area.

Buying flowers from local farmers is far better for the environment than the mainstream flower industry that transports them across the globe and uses excessive amounts of chemicals and energy

  • Flowers bring so much joy and healing

  • • There is very little information about growing cut flowers specific to the Australian climate

After 20+ years in horticulture, permaculture and organic growing Ive incorporated what I find to have worked best for me into methods of growing flowers and want to share this with others.

  • • We are currently working to create a workshop space so that in the near future the community can come and refill their cup with inspiration, knowledge and joy through workshops

  • • I belong to a cooperative of local Hunter flower farmers who sell to local florists and promote/educate to the community the importance of purchasing local flowers

  • • I am passionate about the environment and see my farm as a place of habitat and food for the local wildlife, and have an ongoing native tree planting program. My particular passion is bees, hence growing flowers.

  • • I am currently teaching food growing/ horticulture and bee keeping at Linuwel Steiner School so I’m regularly researching and seeking inspiration to pass on as an educator.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

We acknowledge the tradition custodians of the lands of the Hunter region, the Awabakal, Worimi and Wonnarua peoples. We pay our respects to their elders past and present.

We acknowledge their deep contributions to sustainable agriculture and land stewardship. They were our first farmers and caretakers of country - the soils, rivers and seas.

We are gardeners, farmers, and first time producers of our own backyard fodder, who meet monthly to learn about living and growing sustainably in the Hunter Valley and surrounds.
