Time & Location

Saturday 12 August, 10:00 am – 2:30 pm Martins Creek, NSW

About the Event Host: Kathy Isherwood

I purchased this property in 2000. I was attracted to the property as it was extensively covered with native trees & undergrowth including shrubs, grasses, & diverse ground covers. My main plan was to rehabilitate the bush & protect this as a conservation area in perpetuity. This has been achieved with most of the 32 hectares covered by this conservation plan. The remaining area is set aside for rescued & abandoned farm animals & many roosters in need of a home. I have an organic orchard under development which will one day incorporate vegetables. The work on maintaining the natural area is always ongoing as each season presents new challenges. I would like to believe I will leave the property, & the animals that call it home in a much improved state.

Memebers of LETS will be joining us for the field day.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

We acknowledge the tradition custodians of the lands of the Hunter region, the Awabakal, Worimi and Wonnarua peoples. We pay our respects to their elders past and present.

We acknowledge their deep contributions to sustainable agriculture and land stewardship. They were our first farmers and caretakers of country - the soils, rivers and seas.

We are gardeners, farmers, and first time producers of our own backyard fodder, who meet monthly to learn about living and growing sustainably in the Hunter Valley and surrounds.
