HOGS May Field Day – Saturday, 10 May at 10AM

We’re thrilled to invite you to a special Field Day at the lush and thriving garden of Rebecca and David Meyer, also known as Green Urban Thumb (G.U.T.)!

🌿 What to Expect:

Get ready to explore a Mayfield garden bursting with life—an urban oasis packed with productivity and clever, low-maintenance systems. Whether you're a seasoned grower or just starting, you'll discover:

✔ Watering systems that work smarter, not harder

✔ Raised beds & half-wicking beds

✔ Green manure & composting systems

✔ Gravel paths, creative groundcovers & so much more!

✔Seasonal gardening

Bec and David, our go-to gardening gurus (as many of you know from Facebook!), will be on hand to answer your burning questions and share practical, down-to-earth tips.

🌼 Bonus Stop!

We’ll also visit the Silsoe Street Community Garden, just a 10-minute walk away. This space offers a lovely, shaded area for a relaxed Q&A session and lunch.

Don't miss this inspiring and idea-filled morning—mark the date, gather your questions, and come along for a day of garden goodness!

Please note: You will need to be a member of HOGS to attend. If you aren't a member, you can sign up by visiting https://www.hunterorganicgrowerssociety.org.au/join-us or you can sign up on the day.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

We acknowledge the tradition custodians of the lands of the Hunter region, the Awabakal, Worimi and Wonnarua peoples. We pay our respects to their elders past and present.

We acknowledge their deep contributions to sustainable agriculture and land stewardship. They were our first farmers and caretakers of country - the soils, rivers and seas.

We are gardeners, farmers, and first time producers of our own backyard fodder, who meet monthly to learn about living and growing sustainably in the Hunter Valley and surrounds.
